LaRaye and Andy’s Amazing Coloma Wedding

Amazing is the best way to describe LaRaye and Andy’s wedding. From beginning to end, everything was funky and beautiful. Loved shooting this wedding! LaRaye and Andy have such a unique sense of style and with the help of Carrell Halley and Marjorie Denton Sanborn of Coloma Country Inn, they put together an eclectic, warm and gorgeous setting for their reception. Working with such a fun couple and the ladies at CCI was a huge treat! A big thank you to Anne Chadwick Williams for her wonderful photographic talents as well in helping me shoot this beautiful day!

Maren and Matt’s Freezing Cold Engagement Session

Maren and Matt's Freezing Cold Engagement SessionMaren, Matt and I had a great time shooting their engagement session in South Lake Tahoe a few weeks back. We were gambling that it was going to be sunny and warm, but we instead got C-O-L-D!  Thankfully, these two had a nice bottle of sparkling wine to keep them warm for a little while. When that ran out, it was a hop in to the car with the heater blasting while searching for a place to finish our shoot. We ended up at an undisclosed location that, lets just say, required some creative entry techniques…. even though Matt assured me he’d pay any bail or fines, it never came to that. We got to finish our session, go have some more drinks to warm back up and call it a day. These two are getting married next year and if their wedding is anything like this engagement session, it’s going to be blast!

Angela and Tim’s Apple Hill Engagement Session

Angela and Tim's Apple Hill Engagement Session

Angela, Tim and I headed up to Apple Hill a couple of weekends ago for an engagement session, and man, what a gorgeous place! And these two were a lot of fun to photograph, especially since they are wedding photographers! They are getting married next year in another beautiful spot, The Coloma Country Inn!

Elyse and Stephen’s Sequoia Wedding

Elyse and Stephen had the sweetest wedding October 16th at the Sequoia in Placerville, a beautiful Gold Rush era Victorian that now is a great place to eat, sample some wine, get married and perhaps see a few ghosts.  It’s location  across the street from a graveyard gives credence to the rumor that the place is haunted. Never did see any  ghosts, but after the ceremony, Elyse, Stephen, wedding party and I headed across the street for some group shots before it got dark. Strangest thing happened. Everybody turned into Zombies! Luckily, the transformation was just temporary and everyone was able to return for a fun filled, ghost and zombie free reception. Whewwww!

A big thank you to Anne Williams for helping shoot this wedding!

Holly and Tim’s El Dorado Engagement Session

Don’t know how I keep lucking out with such awesome clients! Holly and Tim are absolute sweetie pies and I am going to love shooting their wedding next June. The fun already started last weekend when we went up to El Dorado to do an engagement session. One of my favorite spots now has a chain linked fence around it but we managed to find this cool, busted up old house instead. And the lovely Renee at The Barn let us go in to the lot at their very cool antique store and get some shots of this old bus. Thanks Renee and thanks to Holly and Tim for such a fun day!

For those who remember Tiffany and Tony’s engagement session photos on my blog last year, you will recall that these two are big baseball fans and that they met at a River Cats game. Their engagement session was at Raley Field so it just made sense that their wedding would have a base ball theme too. Might I add too that I have not seen so much laughing as I have with this wedding. I caught myself laughing out loud more than a few times while in the middle of taking pictures. The folks at Forrest House were awesome to work with and of course, I appreciate the wonderfully talented Ann Chadwick Williams for helping shoot this wedding.

Amy and Jonathan Get Married in Paradise

If a friend e mails you and asks, “Do you want to help me shoot a wedding in Maui?” how long do you think it would take to decide? Ummmmm, minutes? A few days? It took me seconds, especially since the friend was the lovely Diana Kay. We’ve shot weddings together before in always wonderful places and without exception, with very wonderful clients. This wedding was no different. Jonathan and Amy are really a dynamic, adventurous and generous couple. Friends and family are first and foremost with these two and many were able to make the long trip out not only to see Amy and Jonathan get married,  but to experience one island escapade after another. There was even a Lance Armstrong sighting at the Ritz Carlton! It was a wonderful week and I am grateful to Diana, Amy and Jonathan for letting me be a part of your wonderful wedding week in paradise.  A big heart-felt thank you to you all, or as they say in Hawaii, Mahalo!

Also present to capture the beauty of this wedding were Jonathan and Dustin of 1023 Media. Check out their fabulous video here

Jaimie and Chester Get Married At Beautiful Lake Tahoe

I had so much fun shooting Jaimie and Chester’s mid-week wedding up at The Shore House at Lake Tahoe. It turned out to be a drop dead gorgeous day even though the forecast was calling for thunder showers! We totally lucked out!

Jaimie and Chester have an interesting and certainly modern world love story. They first got to know each other after Jaimie would visit Chester’s blog and leave comments on his postings. Their friendship grew in the cyber world until they eventually met in person. The friendship turned to a romance and because Jaimie lives in Hong Kong and Chester lives in Boston, the dating continued online as well. Despite being hemispheres apart, they even watched movies together via the internet!

So on a beautiful summer day, and together in the same location, these two got married in a very cozy space, a 5 foot dock!  After some celebration with an intimate collection of wonderful family and friends, Chester, Jaimie and I took off for Sand Harbor to get some shots on the granite boulders and the beach. Jaimie was a trooper by climbing around all the rocks in her dress and Chester’s hiking boots!

Congrats to two absolutely wonderful people, Chester and Jaimie!

Sande And Bobby’s Big Day!

So, on June 25th, Sande and Bobby got to say their “I do’s” at the beautiful Carmichael Presbyterian Church in Carmichael California. In attendance were family, long-time family friends, college mates and past and present co-workers. It was obvious from all the warmth and joy  that Sande and Bobby are much loved by those who were present. I’ll also mention that Sande had one of the cooler collections of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”, her Dad’s CHP badge and a garter with an LA Dodger’s pin affixed, (Bobby is a big fan), were particular stand outs. After a beautiful mid-day reception, Sande and Bobby slipped on out for a honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos!

Also, a big thanks to the fabulous Anne Williams for helping me shoot Sande and Bobby’s big day!

Rainy But Beautiful Wedding Day At Serrano Country Club for Kristina and Chris

A cloudy wedding day turned  in to a rainy wedding day for Kristina and Chris, but it didn’t stop them from having a very lovely ceremony!  The wedding, originally to be under the big oak tree at Serrano Country Club got moved quickly indoors to the lovely glass dining room overlooking the golf course. Everyone stayed toasty warm and dry and the rest of Kristina and Chris’s special day was fantastic! The food was great, the dancing was great and everyone had an absolutely great time! And the nice thing about rain is that it eventually stops and leaves behind some great clouds for making beautiful sunset photos.

Thanks out to Rob Snavely for helping with the photography at this wedding.
