Matt and Maren’s Wedding Pics

If you’re going to hang around Matt and Maren, be prepared to laugh. A lot. These two are truly a hoot. Any wedding where the groom comes in to The Imperial March, aka, Darth Vader’s Theme, is going to be a good time! Even the prediction of rain a few days before the wedding wasn’t going to ruin the fun for these guys. The foul weather gear, including the Chicago Bears (Matt’s a big fan), umbrellas were ready to bust out should Matt and Maren have to march down the aisle in a downpour. We had lots of fun pics planned should we get the rain and I have to say, I am only slightly disappointed we didn’t get to do those pics since it turned out to be an absolutely perfect day!

Holly and Tim’s Engagement Session Part 2

We did Holly and Tim’s first engagement session last fall, and at what kinda looked like an abandoned crack house! Everything was so dry and crispy and we thought it would be nice to do a second session with green grassy fields and a Spring kinda feel.  Luckily I have a fabulous field behind my house so Tim and Holly came out and we got some great shots of the green grass and poppies.  These two are getting married this June so we’re getting close!

Nick and Erin’s Engagement Session at Stone Barn Ranch

In between all the rainy days Erin, Nick and I finally got a day where we had gorgeous sunny, cool weather to do an engagement session at a fantastic location, The Stone Barn Ranch. It is in Sheridan California, just a bit farther north on Hwy 65 from Lincoln.  This place is actually a wedding venue, but Bev and Rev were kind enough to let us come out for an afternoon of goofing off, shooting, and to just take in the wide open spaces.

I get to shoot Nick and Erin’s wedding up in Tahoe next month and so excited for it! These two are just an awesome couple. And as a bonus,  I’ll get to see friends of theirs and former clients of mine, Amy and Doug, whose wedding I shot in October 2010! How cool is that?!

LaRaye and Andy’s Amazing Coloma Wedding

Amazing is the best way to describe LaRaye and Andy’s wedding. From beginning to end, everything was funky and beautiful. Loved shooting this wedding! LaRaye and Andy have such a unique sense of style and with the help of Carrell Halley and Marjorie Denton Sanborn of Coloma Country Inn, they put together an eclectic, warm and gorgeous setting for their reception. Working with such a fun couple and the ladies at CCI was a huge treat! A big thank you to Anne Chadwick Williams for her wonderful photographic talents as well in helping me shoot this beautiful day!

Maren and Matt’s Freezing Cold Engagement Session

Maren and Matt's Freezing Cold Engagement SessionMaren, Matt and I had a great time shooting their engagement session in South Lake Tahoe a few weeks back. We were gambling that it was going to be sunny and warm, but we instead got C-O-L-D!  Thankfully, these two had a nice bottle of sparkling wine to keep them warm for a little while. When that ran out, it was a hop in to the car with the heater blasting while searching for a place to finish our shoot. We ended up at an undisclosed location that, lets just say, required some creative entry techniques…. even though Matt assured me he’d pay any bail or fines, it never came to that. We got to finish our session, go have some more drinks to warm back up and call it a day. These two are getting married next year and if their wedding is anything like this engagement session, it’s going to be blast!

And these two were a lot of fun to photograph, especially since they are wedding photographers! They are getting married next year in another beautiful spot, The Coloma Country Inn!

Elyse and Stephen’s Sequoia Wedding

Elyse and Stephen had the sweetest wedding October 16th at the Sequoia in Placerville, a beautiful Gold Rush era Victorian that now is a great place to eat, sample some wine, get married and perhaps see a few ghosts.  It’s location  across the street from a graveyard gives credence to the rumor that the place is haunted. Never did see any  ghosts, but after the ceremony, Elyse, Stephen, wedding party and I headed across the street for some group shots before it got dark. Strangest thing happened. Everybody turned into Zombies! Luckily, the transformation was just temporary and everyone was able to return for a fun filled, ghost and zombie free reception. Whewwww!
